Challenge Choice Change

Sharing Your Experiences

Have you ever had new ideas or inspiring experiences you wanted to share with others? But when you share them, they fall flat? How can we share our experiences in a way that inspires others to action?

Challenge, Choice, and Change is a framework we can use to help structure our story. The framework takes people on a journey of "I have done this awesome thing and you can do it too."

Challenge

Describe a challenge you faced. What was it? Why was it a challenge?

For example: "At Annual Conference, I was challenged by the idea that, in the class room, I sometimes need to disobey the rules in order to effectively teach kids."

Choice

So you faced a challenge, what choice did this challenge present? Describe the options you had available to you.

For example: "At Annual Conference, I was challenged to disobey the rules to do what’s best for children. This gave me a choice, do I follow the rules and not help my children, or do I do what I know is right in my heart?"

Change

Describe the choice you made and the impact your choice will make for your colleagues and children. What change will your choice create?

For example: "At Annual Conference, I was challenged to disobey the rules to do what’s best for children. This gave me a choice, do I follow the rules and not help my children, or do I do what I know is right in my heart? I’m choosing to do what I know is right for children and this means they will be able to succeed in their learning."

The example above is based on Welby Ing's keynote presentation to Annual Conference 2018.
